Product Details

Pilocarpine Eye Drops is used primarily in the treatment of glaucoma and ocular hypertension. It works by stimulating muscarinic receptors in the eye, causing the pupil to constrict (miosis) and enhancing fluid outflow from the anterior chamber of the eye. This mechanism helps reduce intraocular pressure (IOP), thereby preserving optic nerve health and vision. It may also be used preoperatively or postoperatively in specific eye procedures or to counteract pupil dilation due to other medications.

Indications

Primary open-angle glaucoma
Acute angle-closure glaucoma (as adjunct therapy)
Ocular hypertension
Preoperative or diagnostic pupil constriction
Reversal of pharmacologic pupil dilation

Dosage

Adults: Instill 1 drop in the affected eye(s) 1–3 times daily, or as prescribed by the healthcare provider.
Children: Use only under medical supervision. Dosage and frequency must be determined by a physician.
