Product Details

Imipenem and Cilastatin for Injection is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used in the treatment of moderate to severe infections caused by bacteria. Imipenem is an antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, while Cilastatin, enhances its efficacy and duration of action. This combination is particularly useful in treating complex infections involving the respiratory tract, urinary system, abdominal cavity, skin, bones, joints, and female reproductive organs.

Indications

Treatment of complicated urinary tract infections
Management of severe lung infections such as hospital-acquired or ventilator-associated pneumonia
Effective in intra-abdominal infections including peritonitis and abdominal abscesses
Indicated for bacterial infections of the skin, bones, joints, and soft tissues
Can be used as part of combination therapy in gynecological infections and septicemia

Dosage

Adults and children 12 years of age and above—250 mg to 1 gram injected into a vein every six to eight hours; or 500 to 750 mg injected into a muscle every twelve hours, depending on how severe your infection is.
Children up to 12 years of age—Use and dose must be determined by your doctor.
