Hyoscine Butylbromide Injection is an antispasmodic agent used to relieve pain and discomfort from spasms of the gastrointestinal, biliary and genitourinary tracts. Unlike centrally acting anticholinergics, Hyoscine Butylbromide acts peripherally, making it effective in treating smooth muscle spasms without affecting the brain. The injection is commonly used in emergency and hospital settings where quick relief from colicky pain is needed.

Indications

Gastrointestinal spasms (e.g., irritable bowel syndrome, intestinal colic)
Biliary colic and gallbladder spasms
Renal colic and urinary tract spasms

Dosage

Adults: 20mg (1ml) administered by intramuscular, subcutaneous, or slow intravenous injection, up to 3–4 times daily as needed
