Esomeprazole Injection is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used in hospitalized or acute-care settings where oral administration is not feasible. It suppresses gastric acid secretion. This injection is ideal for patients with ulcers, GERD, or stress-related mucosal damage requiring IV therapy.

Indications

Short-term treatment of GERD in patients unable to take oral therapy
Erosive esophagitis healing and maintenance
Prevention of gastric ulcers associated with NSAID use
Upper GI bleeding prophylaxis in ICU patients

Dosage

Adults: 20–40 mg once daily via slow IV injection over at least 3 minutes or IV infusion over 10–30 minutes
