Ertapenem Injection is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a variety of serious bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. Its once-daily dosing makes it suitable for both hospital and outpatient settings. Ertapenem works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to the elimination of bacteria.

Indications

Indicated for the treatment of:
- Complicated intra-abdominal infections
- Complicated skin and skin structure infections
- Complicated urinary tract infections, including pyelonephritis
- Community-acquired pneumonia
- Acute pelvic infections, including postpartum endomyometritis
Prophylaxis of surgical site infections following elective colorectal surgery

Dosage

Adults: Administer 1g intravenously once daily, as directed by the prescribing physician.
Children (3 months and older): Dosage should be determined by a healthcare provider based on body weight and clinical condition.
