Anidulafungin is a type of antifungal medicine used in hospitalized patients for serious fungal infections. It works by stopping the fungus from building its protective cell wall and is administered intravenously

Indications

Candidemia (fungal infection in the blood)
Invasive candidiasis (deep tissue fungal infection)
Esophageal candidiasis (fungal infection in the throat or esophagus)
Suspected fungal infections in cancer or immune-compromised patients (as empirical treatment)

Dosage

Adults: Initial loading dose of 200 mg IV on Day 1, followed by 100 mg daily
Children: As prescribed by a specialist
