Product Details

Azithromycin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic formulation used to treat bacterial infections of the eye, including conjunctivitis and trachoma. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby stopping the growth and spread of the bacteria responsible for the infection. Azithromycin provides prolonged antimicrobial coverage with a short course of treatment due to its high tissue penetration and retention in ocular tissues.

Indications

Indicated for acute bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible organisms
Used in the management of trachoma
Suitable for use in pediatric and adult patients
May be prescribed for postoperative ocular infection prophylaxis

Dosage

Adults: Instill 1 drop into the affected eye(s) twice daily for the first 2 days, then once daily for the next 5 days, or as directed by a healthcare provider
For children: Use only under medical supervision
